Posted in Uncategorized on May 25th, 2011 by cars2scrap – Be the first to commentEarlier I discovered a good article posted earlier today, by admin, over on Luxurious Asia – Online luxury magazine entitled 12 Rolls Royce cars get Italian motorcycle police escort in Lake … that I would encourage anyone to read! Below are a few extracts in the hope of whetting your appetites!
The Carabinieri were on hand to make sure there was a smooth path for the procession, skillfully escorting the £4m line-up or Rolls Royce cars through winding streets and small villages. Framed against the stunning and scenic background of Lake Como, the Rolls Royce cars were driven by customers and a selection of VIP guests. The route started at Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, ending in Gravedona where the customers and guests were shuttled across the lake on three J-Craft Torpedo motor cruisers, for lunch in Bellagio. “This was a truly amazing experience in one of Europe’s most beautiful locations”commented Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. “We know the Italians appreciate the finest things in life – and we have the Carabinieri to thank for making sure our guests arrived for lunch with broad smiles on their faces.” A selection of Rolls-Royce Phantom, Phantom Drophead Coupé, Phantom Coupé and Ghost models took part in the procession. The experience came as a fitting end to Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza celebrations, one of the world’s most exclusive motoring events which was held over the weekend of 22 and 23 May.
Reading this got me thinking so I did a google search for more articles on the subject and uncovered some more greats. e.g. this post posted yesterday, by Auto Buff, on Car Chute:
With Mercedes posting early 2011 figures up by 14 per cent on the previous year, and Bentley stating that the region accounts for one in every 10 of their cars sold globally, the motor show is sure to draw customers and companies looking to invest in elite brands. George Duncan, general manager of Bentley Emirates said: “We are in a region that is synonymous with luxury vehicles and there is every sign of that bond growing stronger. The Bentley, Bugatti and McLaren brands typify the classic images of prestige motoring and there is no doubt that Middle East owners and drivers expect the ultimate products.’ ‘The Dubai show is an excellent way for us to present those products and also for our potential clients to experience them. For us it is an essential date in the diary,’ Duncan added. Top brands which have already signed up for the show include Audi, Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Infinity, Jeep, Kia, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, Lexus, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo. The first time exhibitors include Invader Technologies, Lotus, MG, McLaren and Spyker, he said.
Yet another fantastic article came from Carlton Boyce over on The Global Herald posted last week, entitled Rolls-Royce Opens New Showroom in Malaysia which is also definitely worth a read.
The New Rolls-Royce Showroom in Malaysia Rolls-Royce Motor Cars opened its first showroom in Malaysia today, bringing the total number of its outlets in the Asia Pacific region to 18. The showroom in Kuala Lumpur was opened by Paul Harris, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Asia Pacific Regional Director, who said: “We continue to invest in a Malaysian market buoyed by the country’s economic growth and growing appetite for super-luxury cars. Our presence signals our commitment to providing service support for current and future customers, many of whom are new to the brand.” The showroom has space for three Rolls-Royce cars to be displayed as well as an area for customers to discuss their potential purchase and decide which combination of exterior and interior trim they would like to specify on their new car. The cars themselves will be built in the Roll-Royce factory at Goodwood, West Sussex.
