Now then, reading this started me thinking so I did a google search for more posts on the subject and found some more goodarticles! For example, SoftBank CEO Replaces Lost iPhones After Japanese Quake posted back in March, by Wiley John Wright, over on ModMyi Forums:

Masayoshi Son recently went to the city of Tamura, where many people have sought refuge following the devastating tsunami and Fukushima nuclear disaster. Masayoshi Son was so moved by what he saw there that he offered to buy food, pay for commuter costs and offered jobs to many of the refugees. Son, who has nearly 1 million followers on Twitter, recently asked his followers for suggestions about how SoftBank could further help earthquake victims. When one of his Twitter followers, suggested that SoftBank should offer free cell phone service to all the children orphaned by the earthquake, Masayoshi Son decided to enact this idea right away.

Yet another fine post came from Julia McAlpine over on New University posted back in March and entitled Grandparents and iPhones which is also certainly worth a look.

Once my grandfather realized what he’d been given, out came the instruction manual and he knew how to send picture messages by the end of the night. Technology has changed so rapidly since the early 20th century, that it’s surprising how well many people have adapted to it. My grandfather was born in 1923 — the year of sound film and the first electric television. In 1928, my grandmother was born, alongside the electric dry shaver and, amusingly enough, sliced bread. They married in 1953, the same year that the ultrasound was invented, and they celebrated their fourth anniversary the year the satellite was first used. Instant noodles, now a college diet staple, weren’t developed until 1958, the year my parents were born, and Spandex didn’t arrive until the following year. In 1961, digital photography was developed (though digital cameras weren’t sold until the mid-70s), and the first video game console, the Magnavox Odyssey, arrived in 1968.

 [...]

Karaoke wasn’t invented until 1971 and Xerox PARC used the very first personal computer in 1973. Before 1979, there was no such thing as a Walkman, but by 1982, people could listen to their recently invented compact discs anywhere and record home videos on their new camcorder. Even in our lifetime as students, so much has changed. In 1990, the World Wide Web was invented and the first webcam came out in 1991. I remember the year my family got our first computer, and as my dad worked for Pioneer in the 90s, I can recall the short-lived days of the Laserdisc player.

 [...]

While he’s always itching to reprogram his SmartPhone, I’m just glad I can text. I’m sure I could learn the ins and outs of each new electronic gadget, but that’s not where my hobbies or natural interests lie. I may tease my grandmother now, but I predict that when I’m 83, I’ll be just like her. A few months ago, my mom had to pry the VCR and an ancient Denise Austin workout video from my grandmother’s hands to teach her how to use a DVD player. My grandfather, hungry for high definition like so many other technology buffs, just got a Blu-ray player.

Cars 2: The Video Game Supports 3D and 4-Player Split-Screen on …

Posted in Uncategorized on March 31st, 2011 by cars2scrap – 546 Comments

Recently I discovered a brilliant post posted earlier today, by Jonathan Warner, over on PlayStation Blog entitled Cars 2: The Video Game Supports 3D and 4-Player Split-Screen on … that I strongly suggest you all read. I’ve included some little extracts in the hope of piquing your interest!

Mar 31 2011 Hi everybody! We’re wrapping up production on Cars 2, and now we’re excited to announce that Cars 2: The Video Game will be presented in 3D exclusively on the PS3. We’ve worked very closely with Pixar to bring a cool Cars 2 game to life, and it’s even more exciting to bring all of those great characters to life in a full 3D experience. Pixar has created such vibrant worlds that resonate so well with audiences that it seemed a natural extension to take the game to a 3D setting — just like the upcoming film. What’s more, our engineers were able to design a system that allows us to harness the power of the PS3 to display the game in four-player split screen in full 3D.

 [...]

It made the PlayStation 3 the perfect choice for developing a 3D game. We’re really looking forward to delivering a special racing game, and I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as we do! The 3D aspect for the PS3 enables you to step into the game world and experience it the same way you will in a 3D-equipped theater. You’ll get an extra visceral component to the gameplay that you just don’t get on any other platform. When you’re jumping off ramps or smashing through barriers, you feel that sense of actually being there that is so cool with 3D gaming! I love it, and I’m sure you will once you try it.

Reading this post started me thinking so I did a quick search for some other posts on the subject and discovered some more gems! For example, this post by Lods, posted yesterday, on SEGA Europe Blog:

Yet another fine post on the subject came from Sal Romano on Scrawl posted earlier today, entitled Virtua Tennis 4 PS3 exclusive content detailed ? which is also definitely worth a read.

Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg and Pat Rafter, three legend players for those looking to relive classic moments, are only available to play in the PlayStation 3 version of the upcoming tennis sequel. Additionally, two party modes, ‘Pin Crasher’ and ‘Net Blitz’, are also exclusive to the console. ‘Pin Crasher’ is literally bowling on a tennis court, while ‘Net Blitz’ challenges players to build up their score by returning balls into different sized nets. See them both in action below. Pin Crasher Net Blitz Virtua Tennis 4 is out for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii on May 22, 2011.

Inliners International cars rolling into town! | Colorado …

Posted in Uncategorized on March 31st, 2011 by cars2scrap – 717 Comments

I have one Its close to its first start up after about 3 4 years of working part time on it Jan

Today I found a fantastic article by bbaker, posted earlier today, over on Colorado Community College Newswire entitled Inliners International cars rolling into town! | Colorado … that I suggest all of you read! I’ve included some little excerpts in the hope of piquing your interest!

The event takes place thisweekend, March 26-27 at the automotive technology facility located on the college’s north campus, just off Pioneer Road. Each year a group of favorite cars always return to the floor to wow those who are attending the event for the first time. This year, those who have been faithful fans of the event will also be treated to a selection of inliner cars being brought to Sterling by a Denver Inliners International group.  Inliners International was founded in 1981 by four people who shared the love of inline engines.

Now, reading this post started me off thinking so I googled for more posts on the subject and discovered some more greats. For example, this post posted last week, by Michael, over on safepackaging.eu:

Kellogg said it notified FPC about the problem but that the flexible supplier “refused to repair or to replace” the liners. It has also refused pay all costs and damages resulting from the incident, which Kellogg said it is contractually obliged to do. Kellogg spokesperson Kris Charles told FoodProductionDaily.com that the company could not comment on pending litigation.

Yet another fine post on the subject came from Activoo over on Way Away Vacations posted back in January, entitled Shipping Liners, Ocean Liners, Sea Liners which is also certainly worth reading!

Travelling through sea liners is a fantastic way to try different ships and meet some fellow ship lovers. Vacations aboard a sea liner is a tad bit diverse than a usual trip. It is more different and appealing to an adventurous spirits. Whether the interest lies in the liners of yesteryear, the cruise ships or ferries, the fun of the trip lies within the sea. Even today, an ocean voyage still retains an air of mystery and prestige about it. It is often asserted that the demand for shipping liner services are highly inelastic, although there is very little systematic evidence for this. Foreign shipping lines have hijacked the shipping business by dictating who should or should not lift. With the global financial crisis easing up on cargo shipping liners, it is likely that successful liners will be pushing rates back to break even levels, it will take longer to return to normalised profitability as some idle capacity will likely be added once rates provide a profit margin.

Van crashes into two parked cars on 8th and 76th » My Ballard

Earlier today, I came across an excellent article posted earlier today, by Doree, over on My Ballard » Ballard entitled Van crashes into two parked cars on 8th and 76th » My Ballard that I would strongly encourage anyone to read! Below are a few little extracts in the hope of piquing your interest!

Posted by Doree on March 31st, 2011 Tweet A driver who says he was distracted by his phone crashed his minivan into two parked cars on 8th Avenue NW between NW 75th and NW 76th streets just after 11 o’clock this morning. The driver of the dark blue minivan, William Barnes, told me he was driving north on 8th Avenue NW when he looked down at his phone, and apparently drifted to the right. He hit a parked silver car, pushing it into a parked black 1976 Plymouth Volare. The owner of the black car, Jeff Minto, said he was asleep at the time of the crash. Nikkolas Wheatley, who owns the silver car, said he and his wife and newborn baby had just driven up from Lewis County last night to visit friends, and were inside the nearby house at the time. “I was inside getting ready to make a bottle and heard a huge crash, and came outside to this,” Wheatley said. Barnes, the van’s driver, was not injured, but said he had some scrapes and bruises. His van ended up backwards from the direction he was driving, and on its side.

Now then, reading this article started me thinking so I did a google search for more posts on the subject and found some more greats. i.e. this post posted earlier today, by Doree, on PhinneyWood:

Finally, another fantastic article on the subject came from admin on Carcommercialfan posted back in January, entitled 1976 Plymouth Volare vs. Chevy Nova Promo Commercial … which is also certainly worth a look!

25Jan/1125 First year for the Volare, the replacement for the Plymouth Valiant introduction promo. This film was created for Chrysler Plymouth Dealer Salesmen to introduce them with the brand new from the ground up car. In the first model year for the Volare, 255008 Volares were produced. Although this film portrays the car as quality built, it was plagued by poor build quality and a number of Recalls. One major recall was to replace front fenders which rusted on the tops of the part. As a teenager working in a Chrysler owned Dodge Dealer (factory owned store) we did hundreds of fender replacement for literally years. Our own family’s 77 Dodge Diplomat received new fenders under the Aspen and Volare recall and warranty. Many will remember the TV commercials which featured Sergio Frankie Singing the song “Volare”.

Advantages to Alternative Fuel Cars

Lime Green Addiction

Earlier today, I stumbled upon a fantastic article posted earlier today, by 401kinvestment, over on Alternative Investment entitled Advantages to Alternative Fuel Cars that I would encourage you all to read. Here’s a few little extracts in the hope of whetting your appetites!

Here is a look at just five of the benefits that going green can provide you. Cost Buying a car is a huge investment, but switching to clean fuel doesn’t have to be.  When speaking long term, choosing a hybrid that uses clean fuel can cut your fuel prices in half, saving you plenty of money each year.  And while a car is a major purchase, many hybrids are available for a similar price or even less than their gasoline or diesel powered counterparts. Another aspect to consider, is buying a converter kit for you current car.

Now then, reading this post got me thinking so I had a quick search around for some more articles on the subject and uncovered some more greatposts! e.g. Top Green Cars From The Geneva Auto Show by admin, posted yesterday, over on The Revolution in Hybrid Energy:

As consumers start to shift their attention to cars that are more economically friendly as well as stylish, automobile makers are coming up with unique and interesting designs. The 2011 Geneva Motor show revealed a number of new vehicles that will be hitting the streets in the coming months, and there are several promising models. While fuel efficiency may have been a common factor a few years ago, the vehicles that were out for view at the show ranged from sports cars to range rovers and even luxury cars. It is apparent that the body of the car is no longer the limitation; and with some cars getting 150 mpg, there is no telling what the coming models will be capable of. The first car that will be covered is the Nissan ESFLOW.

Yet another fine post on the subject came from xsamurai over on New Gadget News posted two days ago, entitled Coming soon: 'Green cars from pineapple, lemon'| Technology News … which is also certainly worth a look!

Coming soon: ‘Eco-friendly’ cars prefabricated from pineapples or bananas, feature scientists. Besides coefficient reduction, nano-cellulose improved plastics hit machinelike advantages over customary auto- causative plastics, he added.

Rear Entry Wheelchair Vans

Wij zoeken medewerkers Word lid van het grote team van CASH Converters

Today I stumbled upon an enjoyable article posted earlier today, by unknown, and entitled Rear Entry Wheelchair Vans that I suggest everyone reads. I’ve included a couple of little extracts in order to pique your interest!

Enter the minivan. The minivan was manufactured with the complete family in mind. Most wheelchair van converters now lower the floor ten to twelve inches rather than raising the roof. With the mixture of lowered floor and automatic ramp systems have simplified the transportation issue to the point of almost traditional everyday life. The converted wheelchair van currently features a similar look to the factory build minivan.

 [...]

Weather conjointly need to be taken into consideration. Mobility vehicles the load and unload from the aspect have a lower ground clearance and build snow and ice a thought before leaving on that trip to the mall or the food center. There are various seating choices obtainable with the rear entry van. Most manufacturers take into thought that the whole family can be traveling together on many occasions. Mid row seating for the wheelchair occupant assures that the family atmosphere is maintained.

Now, reading unknown’s post got me thinking so I had a quick search around for some more articles on the subject and found some more greats. For example, Blog Archive » Cash Converters World Cup of Darts … posted back in 2010, by admin, on Darts Mad.com:

“On Thursday when our flight was cancelled we thought we might not even make it to the tournament so it’s incredible for us to win the World Cup,” said van Barneveld. “I’m so proud, both to win the event and to play with Co. He has been brilliant throughout the weekend and he has been telling me for three weeks that he had a dream we would win the tournament. “He’s getting better all the time and he showed his quality in this tournament. It’s a huge honour to have won this with him.” Stompe added: “I was privileged to play with Raymond and it’s an amazing achievement. “I’ve played darts for 20 years but this is my first televised world title, and it means so much to me.

 [...]

Bates won the next two, stepping in to punish a missed double 16 from the Dutchman in the seventh and hitting an 81 bullseye finish to pull back to 5-3. Bates hit a maximum in the next, but missed his chance to reduce the gap to one leg as van Barneveld landed double eight for a 6-3 cushion. Both players saw their doubles desert them in the tenth, with Bates landing double one to edge a scrappy leg, only for van Barneveld to be swift in wrapping up victory. He first set up a double 14 finish with a 180, before completing an 11-darter in the next to seal the point. MARK WEBSTER 8-6 CO STOMPEMARK WEBSTER produced some finishing of the highest order in taking an 8-6 victory against Co Stompe in their opening Singles game of the Cash Converters World Cup of Darts final. The duo shared the opening six legs with some fine darts, trading 91 finishes at one stage before Stompe edged 4-3 up with a 62 finish. Webster, though, found another gear to win the next four without reply, twice punishing misses from Stompe before landing checkouts of 160 and 130 to brilliantly lead 7-4. Stompe replied with a fine 128 checkout, and a 64 finish for a 14-darter pulled him back to within a leg at 7-6, only for Webster to seal victory in 13 darts on tops.

 [...]

The Dutchman also hit a 180 in the fourth, but Webster checked out 72 and then 76 in regaining the lead. The see-saw nature continued with van Barneveld taking the next two despite further maximums from Webster to move 4-3 up. Webster, though, found another gear to win three without reply and take command before van Barneveld hit the best leg of the tournament with a ten-darter of 180, 140, 145 and double 18 to pull back to 6-5. Webster hit a 180 and double top to win his seventh leg before missing the bull for the win in the next, as a 97 finish from van Barneveld pulled him back to 7-6. Van Barneveld then kicked in with a 180 to start the next leg, only for Webster to hit a maximum of his own to leave 72, which he checked out on tops. CO STOMPE 8-5 BARRIE BATESCO STOMPE ensured that the Cash Converters World Cup of Darts will be decided by the Doubles contest with Wales after defeating Barrie Bates 8-5 in the final Singles game. After sharing the opening eight legs, Stompe found an extra gear to hit 180s in five successive legs as he swept to victory.

Earlier I found a wonderful post by Brigid Alverson, posted earlier today, over on Robot 6 @ Comic Book Resources – Covering Comic Book News and Entertainment entitled Space cars fighting robots in space? | Robot 6 @ Comic Book … that I would suggest all of you read! I’ve included a couple of little extracts in the hope of piquing your interest!

Tweet Neill Cameron got a fun gig recently: Drawing Battle Force 5 (written by Rik Hoskin) for Totally… HOT WHEELS magazine (which I think is strictly British). Here’s his description: It’s about a bunch of dudes who have awesome space cars which they drive around in space fighting monsters and aliens and robots and stuff. Very Saturday Morning Cartoon (indeed, I think it literally is a Saturday morning cartoon), and as you can imagine from that description, TOTALLY FUN TO DRAW! Cameron posted a generous sample of art, both concept sketches and finished pages (without the lettering) on his blog so we can see for ourselves. Enjoy! .

Now, reading this post started me off thinking so I searched for some more articles on the subject and uncovered some more gems! e.g. Royal Roundup: Saturday Morning Cartoons – WEDINATOR – Funny … by Cheezburger Network, posted last week, on a blog called WEDINATOR – Funny Wedding Photos:

Grolgar :Is it just me or has Eric Maynor missed his last kabillion shots. I feel like he hasn’t made the floater in a month. I’m kind of worried… Is it just in my mind? No, it’s not just you. During the last game, my wife and I were discussing how Maynor’s floater used to be money, but is 50/50, at best, now. My feeling is that he’s going through a bout of lack of confidence.

Diverse Kinds of Cars

Toronto Airport Limo phone 416 820 8300 1 888 905 5667

Earlier I came across an excellent post by admin, posted back in 2010, and entitled Diverse Kinds of Cars that I suggest all of you read! Here are a few little extracts in order to whet your appetites!

In fact, they are one of the most indispensable and also expandable things today. They are used by man to go to do the job, to go to school, for some, it is a means of living, all of which may be summarized in the basic truth that a car is an important way of transportation. However, not everybody is familiar with the distinct kinds of vehicles and a lot of us are most likely unaware. To aid with that simple yet typical dilemma, here is really a brief and basic list along with explanations about the different kinds of vehicles. This though, does not contain limousines, for example a limo in Toronto or in other places, or airport limo Toronto airport. • Convertibles – These are the kinds of vehicles that usually have a sporty look. Almost all convertibles have two things in standard. First, they are two seaters or only have two-doors, and the other and a much more critical and distinct aspect is that their roof can either be folded or detached.

 [...]

• Mini-vans – As may be taken from the name, some of these vehicles are much like vans, only smaller, which explains why they are referred to as mini-vans. • Sports Autos – Most of these vehicles are usually mistaken for convertibles. However, inspite of the somehow different look, sports cars are significantly different, specifically when it comes to things under the hood or even the specs. One thing is for certain though, these are generally design to give the utmost thrill and pleasure of driving.

Now then, reading this got me thinking so I searched for some more articles on the subject and found some more gems. For example, this post by admin, posted earlier today, on x y inf:

You’ve got to be particular with how you might be going to use the limo. If you make a decision on renting for the wedding, it won’t be difficult for you to come across a business due to the fact most limo rentals organizations are dedicated to this. Even so, the case may be various if you are looking for an airport service. There are some persons who also search for this particular service to fetch or transport an invited special individual like a business professional or a famous movie star. Toronto airport limousine services are prominent for this. The demand for this type of service is not as high as that of the wedding.

Finally, another fine article on the subject came from article on Cozy Bear Cabins posted yesterday, entitled Toronto Airport Limousine Services which is also definitely worth reading.

30March2011 Riding the limo is something that you simply can’t do daily. Actually, there is a general belief that only the popular and the financially able men and women can actually do this. This may possibly be true at some extent but there is no truth to the belief that normal men and women doesn’t have the right to experience limousines. Limos are not only for the Hollywood stars and enterprise professionals. Nowadays, with the support of limo rental companies; it is possible to even make your child get to her prom night with a grand entrance with a luxurious limo. Needless to say, you’ll will need a good amount of dollars to do this. Hiring a limousine is genuinely not a joke.

 [...]

It can take you a huge percentage of your financial savings that’s why you have to be observant and wise in deciding on a great rental organization. The first factor that you’ve got to keep in mind will be the special occasion. There are so numerous limousine services being offered in different locations. You’ve got to be particular with how you’re going to use the limousine. In the event you choose on renting for a wedding, it won’t be hard for you to discover a organization mainly because most limousine rentals companies focus on this.

 [...]

Even so, the case may possibly be different if you are seeking an airport service. There are some men and women who also seek out this particular service to fetch or transport an invited special individual like a business professional or a famous celebrity. Toronto airport limousine services are prominent for this. The demand for this kind of service is not as high as that of the wedding. If you’re one of those who need to make your loved one really feel unique in his homecoming, you can always depend on airport limo services Toronto. The next thing that you must think about would be the spending budget. You can’t just make a deal when you are not willing to pay the retail price.

Earlier today, I stumbled upon a brilliant article posted earlier today, by Quirk Automotive Group, and entitled Volkswagen Proves Family Cars Come in Smaller Packages as Golf … that I strongly encourage all of you to read! Below are a few little extracts in the hope of piquing your interest!

The 2011 Top 10 Family Cars list is determined by the editors of KBB.com based on what they believe are the best vehicles for families available at dealer showrooms. KBB.com editors looked at a variety of features important to families to compile this year’s list, including safety, comfort, operating costs, child-friendliness and resale value. The VW Golf delivers in each of these categories, with the clean-diesel Golf TDI already holding Kelley Blue Book‘s 2011 title for Best Resale Value in the Hybrid/Alt Energy Car category. The four-door Golf has also been named a 2011 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick.

Experts state that hitting a brick wall would actually be safer, given all the advances in safety technology.  The steel guards hanging from the back of the truck fail to keep the car from continuing under the truck.  “When you hit a large truck, that crash protection is just bypassed,” says IIHS President Adrian Lund. “We’re talking about the occupants actually making direct contact with their heads with the back of the trailer.” More than 400 people die each year from what’s called “underride,” when the car slips under the back of the truck.  The insurance institute would like to see new rules strengthening the guards and the way they’re attached to the trailers.  It would be only the second time 58 years the federal government implemented new regulations regarding underride guards.

€60,000 – €100,000). These cars had been displayed in the Bertone museum but have to be sold as part of the liquidation of the company’s assets. It is the first time these cars have been offered fro sale and fans of Bertone’s designs are hopeful they will be purchased by buyers who will place them on display in museums so they will not be hidden from public view. Apart from these unique Bertone concept cars, RM Auctions will also be auctioning about 30 other high-end cars, including a tremendously valuable 1953 Ferrari 250 MM Pinin Farina Berlinetta and a rare 1965 Ford GT Works Prototype Roadster. The company expects the average price of the cars being sold at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este will reach €1,000,000 each ($1,419,200 at today’s exchange rate).
